Bittersweet day yesterday. One day to make all Daddies feel special. Appreciated. Only I’ve made some hard choices in the past year, it’s hard not to think about what the impact will be on those little people handing you their card with such excitement.
They’re ok, I know. Great, in fact. And they’ll do as well as I do. But I’ll stop worrying when they are much taller, and bringing their own kids over to visit.

I hate to be the one to break this to you . . . but you won’t ever stop worrying about them. Not when they’re tall. There will just be new things to worry about. Not when they have their own kids. You’ll worry about them, too. Nobody told me when I had kids that I signed up for a lifetime of worrying. But that’s the reality.
JHS is right. You won’t ever stop. Just love them, and be all the dad you can be to them.
My hubs and I have both been through divorces. He’s one of the best dads I’ve ever met. He totally earned the word “father”.
You have too.
